In het stadje Ciudad Juarez, in Mexico tegen de grens met de Verenigde Staten, zijn de afgelopen 15 jaar al meer dan 400 vrouwen en meisjes vermoord. Het is alsof je een boek van Markies de Sade leest.

En dit gaat dusmaar door en door en door! Ondanks verwoede pogingen om dit onder deaandacht te krijgen, lijkt dit afgrijselijke gebeuren buiten devrouwenbeweging vrijwel onbekend te zijn!

De plaatselijke poilitie isernstig onderbetaald, incompetent en/of corrupt. De meeste van die moorden zijn dan ook nog onopgehelderd. Er lijkt  ook geen systeem in te zitten en er is niet een enkele dader, maar een heel aantal. Veel vrouwen zijn voor hun dood gemarteld en verkracht. The bodies of Alma Belxc3xa9n Ortega, age 21, and her mother, Alma Delia Moreno, age 45 were discovered 12 hours apart. Both of the victims were found in abandoned housing units. Five suspects were arrested – by agents of the state investigations office’s Special Prosecutor for Crimes Against Women, in the housing unit were Alma Belxc3xa9n Ortega was found.
